NEW “MAS CREMAF” CONTRACTS ARE AN INNOVATION AT THE REGIONAL LEVEL
The National Road Directorate launched the innovative contracts with Sustainability Bonds
During this year, the execution of the first MAS (Sustainable Asset Maintenance) contracts of the National Roads Directorate is expected, which establish a Sustainability Bond (BS) system. These are optional measures that the Contractor can adopt to receive additional economic compensation, aimed at reducing the environmental and social impact of the works but that will change the paradigm of sustainability of road construction in the country.
Being one of the most innovative initiatives worldwide in this regard, many countries penalize environmental non-compliance but the “MAS CREMAF” encourage exceeding basic standards. We invite you to learn “MORE” about this proposal!
The 13 available bonuses are summarized below:
Infrastructure and Plant Operation
BS1: Connection to the Asphalt Plant electrical grid: Rewards the reduction of fossil fuels in the operation of engines and asphalt heating systems.

7 OUT OF 10 CONSIDER US TO BE THE BEST SUPPLIER
Market research
It is a healthy business practice to know the market's opinion about a company's products and services. At BITAFAL we make this policy a constant. That is why every two years we request an investigation from an external consulting firm on the assessment that our clients have of all aspects linked to our production.
The study “Category and Brand Diagnosis – 2025 Edition” carried out by the prestigious consulting firm Mercoplus brought us great joy, verifying that 7 out of 10 clients consulted rated us as the best asphalt supplier in the Uruguayan market.
A CLEAR EVOLUTION
This indicator shows great growth compared to the previous measurement, carried out in 2023, where 40% rated us as the best asphalt supplier. The aspects most valued by customers were compliance with delivery times, the quality and variety of products, and the attention of our professional team.
And if we talk about sustainable asphalts, BITAFAL's work at a productive, commercial and academic level is beginning to bear fruit, since 6 out of 10 technicians surveyed spontaneously indicated our company as the main producer and promoter of the category. According to the conclusions of the study, BITAFAL is the Top of Mind in sustainable asphalts, a type of product that is beginning to be a global trend.
The research carried out represents a great impetus to continue betting on research, innovation and sustainability, in favor of providing better solutions every day for the development of the country's road industry.
BITAFLEX SA 20 SEALANT ON HIGHWAYS IN BUENOS AIRES
Exporting Innovation
A few months ago we received a request to develop a type SA20 sealant according to the IRAM 6838 standard for use in various bridge joints on the Highways leading to the City of Buenos Aires. The particularity of the order is that they specifically required a torsional recovery above 75% when the standard only requires 30%. We took the challenge and tested a large number of variants to achieve the product that we industrially scaled.
We managed to make the first shipment last December and it was applied during January and February on the Autopistas del Oeste viaducts with excellent performance, solving a problem for the contractor who met the deadlines and quality required by the concessionaire.
We invite you to learn more and see photos of the experience.
SA20 sealant is designed for highly technically demanding applications in wide, high-traffic bridge joints designed to respond to severe stresses and demanding weather conditions, especially in road infrastructure and bridges.
It is characterized by its high elasticity along with adhesion and durability, offering superior behavior against the movements of structures and high resistance to weathering. Its formulation allows us to achieve performance levels that exceed the requirements established by the IRAM 6838 standard, particularly with regard to elastic recovery.
Among its main benefits are:
High elastic torsional recovery, greater than 75%, which improves behavior against deformations.
Softening point above 100°C, suitable for hot climates.
Excellent adhesion and resistance, even in wide joints and conditions of intensive use.
These characteristics make SA20 a solution especially suitable for sealing joints in viaducts such as those on the Accesses to Buenos Aires, Argentina. The development and export of this technology positions our products in the region, providing greater durability and reliability in works that require high performance standards.
PROTAGONISTS OF THE “SUSTAINABLE ROUTES” PROJECT ON ROUTE 9
Unpublished experience in the country together with the construction company Traxpalco
“From now on, when you enter Route 9, you will be entering the path of sustainability” announces the radio mention that presents the Sustainable Routes project. The fact is that the construction project of the double road that connects the cities of Pan de Azúcar and Rocha was much more than a construction project: it was the opportunity to incorporate all the sustainability concepts available in our country, applied to road construction.
At BITAFAL we contribute to the project the sustainable asphalt AM3 MAX, a product that is applied at a lower temperature, drastically reducing CO2 emissions, and that is produced in our plant powered by 100% renewable energy. Added to this is the great contribution of the construction company Traxpalco, responsible for the construction of the double track, which incorporated other substantial elements, such as fauna passages, the replacement of native flora affected by the work and the work with the local communities in the area.
The project had the support of the authorities of the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works and the Ministry of the Environment, who understood the importance of incorporating the concept of sustainability into road construction, taking care of the environmental heritage in projects so necessary for the productive development of the country. “Sustainable Routes” is integrated into the actions of the United Nations Global Compact, contributing to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Communication played a substantial role in the launch of the project, informing through the media the scope of this unprecedented experience and committing the users of the route to responsible use of it and the environment that surrounds it. At BITAFAL we encourage that the Sustainable Routes project be replicated in future road construction projects.

FAREWELL TO THE YEAR THE WAY OF BITAFAL
Music, prizes and a lot of joy to close 2025 together.
Everyone knows it: December is a month to celebrate. And at BITAFAL, the end of the year party is a tradition, which is surpassed each year in organization and team participation.
That's why we organized a meeting for our entire team, which had everything necessary to spend a nice moment together. On this occasion, the leadership of the meeting fell to a duo calling themselves “The Low Cost”, made up of our head of Human Resources Marinella Fernández and the recently arrived head of Logistics Alvaro Brugman, who took the entire team through all the sensations: joy, excitement, music and many prizes.
BLOG
Our directors Claudio and Santiago Kröger were in charge of reviewing what we experienced throughout 2025 and putting the emphasis on everything that is coming next year. There was no shortage of recognition for the career of several members of the team, as well as emotional and fun words from the honorees.
And after a break for the gastronomic proposal, it was time for music, with the band “P40” directed by our dear colleague Fernado Cardozo, who made the entire audience dance for more than an hour.
This is how we close the year at BITAFAL, in our own way, together, making our motto as a team a reality: #SomosUno!!!
