SECOND WEBINAR ON PERFORMANCE TESTING

SECOND WEBINAR ON PERFORMANCE TESTING

We continue with the conferences of this first cycle "High Performance Surface Treatments"

Last October 15th The second webinar was held in which we discussed the subject of the tests that are carried out in the stages of selection of materials, design and construction; and we present some of the most effective surface treatment specifications in the world. Once again, we managed to attract more than 350 people in this much-demanded cycle of talks on superficial treatments.

This second conference was focused on the usual performance of a treatment and we reviewed the main failures that can occur, such as loss of stone, exudation and fissures. We comment on how each type of failure is evaluated and its consequences for the user and the Administration. Then, we extensively detail what are the factors that we can control to avoid or mitigate these failures from appearing in the short and long term, both in the selection of materials, in design and in construction.

One of the objectives that we wanted to convey in this webinar was about the importance of tests that allow us to represent a traffic or climate condition to which this treatment will be effectively subjected. Hence the relevance that the new and modern specifications will have for the performance of materials (such as the Emulsion Performance Grade) and the tests that allow, after construction, to evaluate and quantitatively record parameters such as slip resistance and macrotexture. We are convinced that this is the way to go if we want to define failure criteria adjusted to this type of technology, estimate its useful life and therefore use it as an effective tool in road maintenance strategies.

We take this opportunity to invite you to the next Webinar of the day November 6th, in which we will deal precisely with road management and how surface treatments, and in particular gravel irrigation, can be the most cost-efficient solution for their conservation.
