International Day for the Preservation of the Road

The next 5th of April it will celebrate the first International Day of Road Maintenance (International Road Maintenance Day, IRMD) the IRMD 2018

It proposed an excellent initiative from Asefma (Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Asphalt Mixture) and adds up consciences over the globe, such as ZAS (Slovenia) Routes de France (former USIRF France), ERF (European Road Federation) and Eurobitume, Mexico, Ecuador, Chile and BITAFAL from Uruguay, among others.

The reason for the celebration of this day is to show that the world as we know it today is only possible by roads and must properly preserve them. Institutionalizing the idea is to be held every first Thursday of April.

In the 2018 edition of IRMD, under the slogan "It protects the roads conserving the environment"It aims to draw attention to the influence of the condition of roads in emissions from vehicles on them.

He program of the day next Thursday April 5 in Madrid-Spain, will be from 9 to 12 (local time) and will feature two panel discussions:

1- The opinions of road users

2- The position makers

Opening exchanger Route 1

The company Molinsur He opened last March 22 Exchangers Route 1 Camino Camino Cibils and Tomkinson.

The inauguration was attended by the current Minister of Transportation and Public Works, Victor Rossi and his predecessor, Enrique Pintado, as well as other DNV authorities, construction companies and friends. During the ceremony, the great challenges involved in a work of this magnitude and investment, estimated at over $260 million, were highlighted. The highlights were the large volumes of natural material moved to optimize the construction of both interchanges as well as the various inconveniences encountered in the execution of a work with a traffic greater than 12,000 vehicles/day but that has solved an enormous traffic junction that had been generated in recent years due to the proliferation of industrial and logistics projects in the area.

La obra en la intersección de la Ruta nacional Nº1 con Camino Cibils consiste en una solución a desnivel donde la circulación en la ruta se realiza en forma superior, manteniendo Camino Cibils y las ramas auxiliares su nivel original. La elevación de las calzadas de Ruta 1 se realizó con un puente de hormigón armado y los terraplenes de acceso correspondientes. La rasante de la ruta se eleva unos seis metros respecto a su cota actual, dejando un “gálibo libre” bajo el puente de 5,5 metros.

El puente consiste en una estructura compuesta por muros de apoyo extremos y un apoyo intermedio de cuatro pilares y la correspondiente viga. El cruce se complementó con la construcción de dos semi rotondas que facilitan la distribución del tránsito para efectuar las diferentes maniobras posibles.

World Of Asphalt 2018

Bitafal group was present once more in the world's most important asphalt event, this time at the George Brown Convention Center in Houston gigantic industrial city.

For 6 to 8 March was held the annual event World of Asphalt Houston, with a significant international presence of different industry players and roads. Also coincided with the event AGG1 Aggregates Academy & ExpoWith more than 200 aggregates and paving talks and an exhibition showing the world the latest technologies and innovations in equipment, products and services related to aggregates.

Houston fue sede este año del evento World of Asphalt, justamente una ciudad muy influenciada por el oro negro, que desde su descubrimiento en 1901, se ha convertido en su pilar económico más importante. Houston hoy posee 5.000 empresas relacionadas a la energía y la ciudad es considerada por muchos como la ‘Capital de Energía del Mundo’. Cualquiera que haya transitado por esa ciudad o ve las imágenes de internet, se da cuenta de su magnitud.

A modo informativo, Houston cuenta además con el complejo médico más grande del mundo, el Texas Medical Center (TMC), con sus 54 instituciones afiliadas y sus 15 hospitales; y con el mayor centro de investigación espacial en el mundo, el Space Center Houston de la NASA. Incluso “Houston” se jacta de ser la primer palabra dicha desde la luna en 1969.
