NEW ANDREONI CANAL BRIDGE OVER
Good progress building the bridge over the Canal Andreoni after he was seriously affected the existing bridge with heavy rains of 2016. In January, earlier than expected, soil movement for access to the new bridge began. It is expected to enable traffic on the new bridge in June 2017.
Techint invited us to attend the assembly of the prestressed beams of the new bridge over Andreoni canal at kilometer 314 of Route 9 at Spa La Coronilla. It is a bridge of 90 meters long with a roadway of 9.20 m wide and pedestrian path 2 meters wide.
The beams are 29m long at the end spans and the 4 central ones measure 31.30m. They weigh 57 and 62 tons respectively. They are post-tensioned with 3 tendons of 13 cables of 0.6'' each. Two tire cranes were used, one with a 120-ton capacity and the other with a 200-ton capacity. An extensible flat was also used to transfer the beams from the precast bench to the place from which to assemble them. Interruptions to traffic on Route 9 were minimal in the height of the summer season (less than 2hrs 20 cumulative).
As for deadlines: The minutes of staking is the November 1, 2016, as it says the first sentence, is making good progress. January (10 days ahead of schedule) soil movement for access to the new bridge began. It is expected to enable traffic on the new bridge in June 2017.
