CAPESEAL ON ROUTE 12

CAPESEAL ON ROUTE 12

Another work carried out with Capeseal pavement on our national routes

The recently inaugurated work was carried out in less than 4 months and involved the base surcharge, the recycling with Portland cement and the execution of a Capeseal in 17 km of extension. The works carried out by Serviam between Solanas and Ruta 9 finished ahead of schedule, showing the advantages of this type of pavement execution both in quality and in productivity.

With this work, there are already more than 6 national routes that have this solution in some of their sections and other works are planned for 2022.

The rehabilitation of the section implied a base surcharge of 9 cm, the recycling of the material together with the old surface treatment in 20 cm with Portland cement and an irrigation of curing with emulsion IRRIGATION BITAFAL 65. Then, for the Capeseal, the simple bituminous treatment with emulsion was carried out IRRIGATION BITAFLEX 65 P40 and aggregate 5-14 mm in a width of 7.2 m to later be covered by Type II cold microagglomerate made with emulsion BITAFLEX MICRO 62 P25.

The recycling and bituminous treatment works were carried out by the Macromáquinas company, which has a new recycling train as well as a self-propelled gravel machine to ensure the quality of the work carried out. The microagglomerate was executed by Serviam with its high-capacity Romanelli equipment in just 8 working days.

The investment estimated at about USD 160,000 / km and the quality of the work carried out strengthen the concept that recycling combined with Capeseal is the future of many of our roads.

We congratulate Serviam on another high-quality work!
INAUGURATION OF WORKS IN MALDONADO

INAUGURATION OF WORKS IN MALDONADO

The President of the Republic, the Minister and other authorities inaugurated important works for the Department

Last Friday, the 17th, a tour of openings was carried out for the summer season that is beginning. Two interchanges in Ruta Interbalnearia, Route 12 from Solanas to Route 9 and the roundabout of Route 104 and Route 10 were the projects completed in these days and that were carried out in record time.
The President of the Republic, Luis Lacalle Pou; the Secretary of the Presidency, Alvaro Delgado; the Minister of Transport and Public Works, José Luis Falero; the Director of Roads, Hernán Ciganda; the Mayor of Maldonado, Enrique Antía, among other authorities, businessmen and road technicians.
The day began at the Solís Interchange built by Colier in just 5 months, then the Pan de Azúcar Interchange built by Traxpalco was enabled with several engineering challenges that were overcome in record time. Then Route 12 was inaugurated, which Serviam rehabilitated with a recycling with cement and a Capeseal, and the day ended in the Manantiales area with the inauguration of the Route 104 and Route 10 roundabout, as well as the accesses to the new Contemporary Art Museum of Paul Atchugarry.
The interchanges of the Interbalnearia are works that will significantly improve the road safety of the route, since more than 70 people have lost their lives at these crossings since records exist.
In the case of the Solís Interchange, the Interbalnearia Route was raised, leaving a lower passage with roundabouts to distribute the traffic that enters or leaves the resort. The Colier company executed the project that involved an enormous contribution of material to consolidate the interchange in record time and where an asphalt layer made with modified asphalt was made BITAFLEX AM2.

In the Pan de Azucar Interchange, Traxpalco had to dig into the rock to lower the elevation of the Interbalnearia and be able to place a bridge on Route 37 to connect Pan de Azúcar and Piriápolis at a different level. The challenge of doing this work without explosives was one of the biggest challenges of the work that also required a rolling layer with modified asphalt. BITAFLEX AM2.

Another improvement in intersections occurred in the Route 104 and Route 10 roundabout that Serviam executed with a change in Route 104 layout and elevation of Route 10 elevation to take advantage of better visibility. In this case, the asphalt layer was made with modified asphalt. BITAFLEX AM3 that ensures a long useful life to the paving made. The installation of a sculpture by Pablo Atchugarry in the roundabout has already been announced, marking the presence of the sculptor in the area, since he has his museum at km 4 of Route 104, where the accesses were also made.
