SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS BITAFAL GROUP

We work on many of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for a happier and healthier world

The Goals for Sustainable Development (ODS), are the UN's master plan for a happier and healthier world by 2030.

At Grupo Bitafal we ask ourselves: how do we incorporate these objectives into our day to day?
Under the UN initiative "Make change possible" we focus on several of the SDGs to live in a more sustainable way at work and at home, changing consumption patterns, focusing on the use of renewable energy and others. We invite you to learn about our initiatives.

Regarding GOAL 9: INDUSTRY, INNOVATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE, we believe that innovation and technological progress are key to discovering lasting solutions to economic and environmental challenges and that is why we focus on:

Implement an Innovation Management System to develop the initiatives we take in an orderly manner.
Promote sustainable and long-lasting technologies such as pavement recycling, soil stabilization, high-performance surface treatments, and asphalt mixtures with modified binders.
Promote a philosophy of preventive maintenance of pavements using mainly cold techniques.
Promote asphalt emulsions as the most user-friendly alternative to the use of asphalt binders.

Regarding GOAL 12: RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION we seek to do more and better things with fewer resources, decoupling economic growth from environmental degradation, increasing resource efficiency and promoting sustainable lifestyles. We are proposing a transition towards green economies like the CIRCULAR ECONOMY and with low carbon emissions. For this and linked to the other objectives:

We work on the incorporation of recovered waste in paving such as: end-of-life tire dust, crushed glass, steel slag, recycled plastics, recovered hydrocarbons and other large amounts of waste that are a great problem for our society.
Study the life cycles of the cold techniques that we promote, seeking to minimize the carbon footprint with different initiatives.
We have a total Waste Management looking for alternatives for reuse and recycling.

Regarding GOAL 7: AFFORDABLE AND NON-POLLUTING ENERGY we focus on changing our internal consumption matrix by incorporating clean energy, including renewable sources, energy efficiency and reducing the use of non-renewable fossil fuels. For this we are implementing in our plants:

Install photovoltaic solar power generation systems.
Implement recovered oils as an alternative fuel to Fuel Oil.
Install sensor-based control systems along with frequency inverters, timers, and lighting fixtures to promote energy savings.

All these initiatives are closely related to GOAL 13: ACTION FOR CLIMATE to adopt urgent measures to combat climate change and its effects. With these initiatives we seek to reduce carbon emissions from our operations and supply chains, improving energy efficiency; reducing the carbon footprint of our products, services and processes; and increasing investment in the development of innovative and inclusive low-carbon products and services.

In addition, being part of ASIQUR's Responsible Care of the Environment (PCRMA) Program since 2008, many of these initiatives focused on the environment have been complemented with social ones for several years and therefore under OBJECTIVE 8: DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH, OBJECTIVE 3: HEALTH AND WELL-BEING, OBJECTIVE 4: QUALITY EDUCATION and OBJECTIVE 5: GENDER EQUALITY we have various initiatives such as:

Within our company as well as in the neighborhood where we are installed for information, collaboration, training on various topics of interest.
We collaborate with gardens, schools, CAIF and other local institutions to improve living and working conditions with financial donations, shelter campaigns, toys, food, among others.
We incorporate young students in dual modality, internships, internships and others for their training and work experience.
We seek to achieve a work table on the contribution of pavements to road safety.
We have strict protocols for the protection of employees and the community against different risks such as chemicals or COVID-19.

We will go deeper into the different initiatives in future editions of our Newsletter to count the progress and spread the enthusiasm for a happier and healthier world.

BITAFAL PARTICIPATED IN THE ACTION Holidays #Entretodosparatodos

Last weekend, those of us who are part of Grupo BItafal were able to enjoy as a family the on-line theater performances of the "Vacations #entretodosparatodos" project.

This initiative aims to collaborate with five major cases in our country: Peluffo Giguens Foundation, Kangaroo Foundation, Children's Villages, Coranzoncitos Foundation, and Liceo Francisco.

We were able to choose between 5 performances that included “Opa Payasos” “Mago Daniel K” “Tía Libi's show” “Clap Clap Circo” and “Ruperto Rocanrol”.

It was an excellent opportunity to enjoy in this format that this new reality in which we are living offers us, to disseminate wonderful artists from our country, and at the same time collaborate with organizations that have been affected by the situation we are going through.

We thank the entire organization and we hope that initiatives like these will be replicated.

CHILDREN'S DAY IN BARRIO COLONIA Nicolich

Friday August 16 Garden # 293 and CAIF Fraternity of Colonia Nicolich, celebrated the day of the child with games, shows and gift-giving.

GROUP BITAFAL She was present with the donation of toys and learning materials with the collaboration of employees and the company who collected and delivered gifts to 120 children from the CAIF FraternityAnd for 222 children of the 293 Garden Cologne Nikolich.

A beautiful delivery experience, dedication and above all the satisfaction and gratitude of children, teachers and principals who welcomed us so warmly.

Special thanks and congratulations to the entire team of Bitafal Group who are committed to the proposed actions for children early childhood in our neighborhood, so I joined efforts to collect toys and money for the purchase of recreational materials - teaching.

Bitafal Recognition Group

Last October 2 at the Industrial Club of the Chamber of Industries of Uruguay, was held the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Responsible Care Program Environmental Group which is part Bitafal 10 years.

With a call for more than 100 people, the presence of authorities ASIQUR and representatives of 28 companies recognized for their high performance and score in the Program; Bitafal group He received a certificate for good environmental practices and community.

CELEBRATING CHILDREN - Actions that make the difference # 2

On Sunday 20 August, on the occasion of the celebration of Children's Day, Athletic Club Flamengo and the Municipality of Colonia Nicolich, organized a big celebration entertaining the little ones in an afternoon of inflatable games, a delicious snack and gifts for boys.

Since June, a group of young Club Atlético FlamengoHe committed to the neighborhood and its people, began a toy collection campaign, calling friends, neighbors, businesses, shops and Grupo BITAFAL to collect about 200 toys that were put up, packaged and delivered.

The locals and families of about 100 children to share a sunny and joyful evening attended.

Since Bitafal group We support this initiative with pride and commitment, celebrating the good work and management of Club boys to their community.

In addition we applaud the support of municipio Nicolich, Youth and Sports Center Quebracho, Sectional # 28, local Tiki Toco, local Just here and company Danone who they collaborated with toys, desserts, sweets and treats.

ACTIONS THAT MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

Flamengo Athletic Club was founded in 1981 by a group of friends and workers in the area of Empalme Nicolich with the vision of bringing together students and workers wanting to do sport and compete in various tournaments.

It is a sports group that promotes the development of football in youth based on values such as respect, companionship, sacrifice, humility, team spirit and commitment.

Since its foundation have competed in several amateur tournaments with very good results and main objectives for the coming years. UY currently competing in the Divisonal D League after getting the promotion in his first season game.

Since 2015 Grupo Bitafal support from the Board of Directors to Athletic Club Flamengo and this year with more active participation to accompany the vision and projects that this group of young aim.

In April the presentation of the new team jerseys with the sponsorship of Bitafal Group was held, and in May was held on the occasion of Mother's Day, a drawing of a TV 49 '' also with support of our company.

While these small actions are a drop in the ocean, we believe make the difference for the athletes group, enthusiastic and workers remain motivated, committed and growing individually and collectively and with the excuse of sport that does so much good to the body and soul.
