UPDATE SEMINAR FOR ABC (BOLIVIA)

GRUPO BITAFAL present at the Seminar organized by the Franz Tamayo University of Bolivia

The seminar organized by the Franz Tamayo University and the Bolivian Highway Administration (ABC) was held in 4 days from 14 to July 27th Through the Zoom platform where more than 100 ABC engineers were able to learn first-hand about the latest technologies related to modified asphalt and emulsions.

Speakers from various universities in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia and Peru as well as CAF, Instituto Panameño del Asfalto y Vialidad Argentina presented on various topics related to the use of modified asphalt as well as primer emulsions and modified emulsions for treatments. Grupo Bitafal presented on "High performance asphalt emulsions" commenting on the latest trends in specifications by degree of performance and other recent developments.

Course Assessment Roadways

Bitafal said this in the course of UNR graduate of Argentina organized by the AUC in Uruguay.

In the last month, from 26 to 29 June, the Evaluation Course Walkways was performed by professors Marta and Oscar Giovanon Pagola, Institute of Applied Mechanics and Structures (lower) At the University of Rosario.

The course starts demonstrates the commitment that exists in the national road on these issues and attended by representatives from Grinor, CIEMSA, Serviam, CVC and MTOP officials, OPP and IM, in days of intense participation.

Among the topics discussed it is highlighted:

The objective of auscultation of pavements.
Analysis of the different parameters of pavement evaluation: longitudinal deformation (IRI), transversal deformation (rutting, sinking), cracking, bumps and surface defects (exudation polishing aggregates).
Review of the most commonly used for evaluation of these parameters equipment. Exposure of the most modern methods.
combined deterioration indexes: Index state Serviciability Present Index (PSI), Pavement Condition Index (PCI).
Importance of tire adhesion road (Macrotexture and coefficient of friction).
structural monitoring of roads (Benkelman, Lacroix, FWD, LWD).

In conclusion, the importance of assessing roadway stands, both structurally and superficially, to determine the prioritization of improvement projects and efficient maintenance of our roads.

Following the conference we announced in our last issue, we visited this month in the halls of training sion, Team members urban, rural and bacheo of the Municipality of Cerro Largo road.

Besides preparations for events topics, issues mixtures they were treated cold for patching, different formulations and best practices for laboratory use.

Exchange table with departmental governments

On July 26 colleagues Quartermaster Cologne approached salons CITEVI shared-time exchange with a focus on current needs and challenges that present themselves to technical and economic level for the municipalities and their jobs from construction vial.

an interesting talk, where they were addressed among others the following topics generated:

* The current problems of rural roads and how to address it in a sustainable manner;

* Final technical solutions as stabilized soil cement;

* Benefits of primer emulsions;

* Surface treatments and the experience in New Zealand;

* New modified asphalts and their applications.

WORKSHOPS CYCLE WITH Intendencias

This year we return to the cycles of technical workshops with departmental governments to discuss various topics paving technology. A classic workshops a few years ago on the use of emulsions, best practices for surface treatments and cold mix to add bacheo improved bases by in situ stabilization and paving new technologies.

It is a day of sharing experiences accompanied laboratory tests to better understand the management of asphalt products.
