BITAFAL GROUP present at the International Seminar "Asphaltic mixtures and their relevance in the durability of pavements"

The seminar organized by the Peruvian company Ing. Nestor Huamán y Asociados was held last 11th of June via online, both on the Zoom platform, where about 100 people listened to us and exchanged, as well as on Facebook Live, where there were about 1,200 connected participants. The subsequent numbers of the day are more impressive since the video of it has more than 9000 reproductions at the moment.

The event began with a talk on "Asphaltic mixtures as wearing course" by Ing. Adrián Nosetti from Argentina, then Qco. Santiago Kröger presented on the "Importance of asphalt irrigation with emulsions" and at the end Eng. Nestor Huamán presented on "Asphalt rheology".

PRINT 50 AN ALLY FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Since the introduction of the emulsion 50 in Uruguay PRINT form base priming it has changed considerably because of the technical and economic advantages

We have made little emphasis on the environmental benefits of its use to the detriment of asphalt diluted for priming as in the case of the MC1. Diluted contains 30% volatile solvents evaporating end to the atmosphere photochemical smog impact on the greenhouse effect and the reduction of the ozone layer while PRINT 50 only emits water in curing.

Also, temperatures of handling and application of different types of primers lead to significant fuel economy as the PRINT 50 It is fully liquid at room temperature and water it is possible at temperatures as low as 40 to 50 ° C while the MC1 must be heated to 90 ° C or 80 to be applied correctly.

In recent years the use of PRINT 50 in Uruguay achieved:
- Reduce by 3000 tons of solvents emitted into the atmosphere
- Reducing CO2 emitted to the atmosphere because of its lower temperature manufacturing, handling and application
- Improving safety and health of workers by lower operating temperatures and avoid inhaling solvents
- Eliminate the risk of explosion in regadores trucks.

As for flammability and explosion hazard we should worry seriously and only in 2019 there were 2 accidents which fortunately had no fatal casualties but substantial material losses.

In many countries of the world the use of diluted asphalt is prohibited, as is the case of Argentina and Spain, or at the least there are state policies that tend to reduce these products. In the US and Canada have guidelines for not using dilute solvent regulate their content or used out only from the time of ozone generation (usually summer).
It has recently been proposed that can not manufacture or market any diluted containing more than 0.5% by volume of volatile solvents evaporated at 260 ° C or less as determined by ASTM D402.
Uruguay should consider this path if we want to be an environmentally responsible country and protect the lives of workers.

emulsions IRRIGATION BITAFLEX 65 polymer modified P12, P25 and P40 and the 50 PRINT BITAFAL They are having a great performance in all works of surface treatment that is using the different areas in the country both in their application and end use.

They have good viscosity to prevent runoff and once in contact with the aggregate achieve high cohesion within minutes. The asphalt binder, adjusted penetration according to the time of year when we are working and the area of the country where the work is executed, is further modified with elastomeric polymers that provide excellent resistance to traffic and weather.

The hundreds of km of works in major routes as 10, 13, 15, 19, 20, 23, 26, 45, 57, among others, are witness to the above and shown BITAFAL engagement with Uruguay road.

EMULSION BITAFAL PRINT 50 SPACE STILL WINNING

Technical, economic and environmental advantages of the emulsion 50 PRINT BITAFAL They are positioning it against diluted MC1.

More and more works in Uruguay who are using the emulsion PRINT 50 as a protective layer of granular and stabilized bases. It has a very good ability to penetrate most bases used. Furthermore the rate of penetration and curing is significantly better compared to MC1, not to mention that all that is released into the atmosphere and the soil is water and not solvents.

We emphasize the importance of surface moisture of the base does not exceed 1% for the performance thereof is optimal. If the base is wet, means that the pores are filled with water and despite the PRINT 50 is water based, it will not be able to penetrate and surface.

Work IX Congress of the primer Vialidad_ EMULSIONES: Technical and Environmental Improvements

GRAVILLADOS NEW ROUNDABOUT ROUTE 10 And 16

recently we conducted for the company Techint S.A.C.I. one graveled with our double spreaders in a new roundabout built between Routes 10 and 16.

The work was done in a couple of days only because of the great versatility of these self-propelled equipment to work on curves of small radii. They consisted of a primer emulsion Print 50, and then a modified double emulsion CHIPSEAL Irrigation 65 P25. Quality of work, both dosage and overlap could be seen both as technicians of the company Techint and the MTOP.

We attach some pictures of them to appreciate the quality of the terminations.

Exchange table with departmental governments

On July 26 colleagues Quartermaster Cologne approached salons CITEVI shared-time exchange with a focus on current needs and challenges that present themselves to technical and economic level for the municipalities and their jobs from construction vial.

an interesting talk, where they were addressed among others the following topics generated:

* The current problems of rural roads and how to address it in a sustainable manner;

* Final technical solutions as stabilized soil cement;

* Benefits of primer emulsions;

* Surface treatments and the experience in New Zealand;

* New modified asphalts and their applications.
