COMPARISON OF STABILIZATION OF ROADS TECHNOLOGIES

COMPARISON OF STABILIZATION OF ROADS TECHNOLOGIES

GROUP BITAFAL was invited by the OPP to participate in a comparative experimental section of stabilizing products in the Constancia in Paysandu, seeking to know which of them could ensure durability in rural roads.

Of the 11 kilometers of road thousand meters were left at each end as witnesses, which is not an application is made, while the remaining 9 kilometers are divided into 6 sections and each of them will be a specific application (SEE: LINK SITIO PAYSANDU.GUB.UY)

BITAFAL group It will implement the technology introduced in Uruguay in 2013, stabilization on site with Portland cement in a length of 1500 m by 6 m wide. The other stabilizers are applied based on polymer, of ionic and sulfur.

It's an interesting experience to evaluate the performance of a large portion of existing stabilizers on the market, where quality, durability, the manner of execution and of course the actual cost of each in similar conditions will be.

Moreover, the Director of Works of the Administration, David de Lima said "This is a beginning, an experimental pose, but clearly we intend to carry on using these products, those that give better results in our soils. Within rural road recovery plans will be much more expensive at first but cheaper in the end. "

The project will have several controls. On the one hand, of the companies that sell the products, they expect to be applied in optimal conditions. Then the quartermaster. Third, the OPP. And besides, the Faculty of Engineering, which will closely monitor the work.

Scientific support will be key, because control of such stabilizers involves systematic chemical and physical-mechanical tests (SEE: NOTE THE TELEGRAPH September 2016)

EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE IN chiping Route 8

With more than a year in service, the 23 Km of Chiping made in Route 8 for Serviam S.A. distributed between km 209 and 235 behave impeccably fulfilling the objectives set out in its application.

Cal (2)

As for existing defects, they are very specific and easily solvable. Specifically, the final stretch of about 900 m which took place near the very long winter we suffered in 2016, the arid fell off prematurely, leaving an excess content asphalt surface coinciding with the existing tracks in the driveway.

To rehabilitate recently decided that surface making a chip seal 5 to 14 mm in traces low emulsion and then placed on the same day with the chiping aggregate 5-10 mm across the width of the road and the corresponding irrigation emulsion fog BITAFLEX IRRIGATION 65 P40 D prepared with hard asphalts.

In this way it was possible to correct the existing rutting, excess asphalt surface was controlled and good macrotexture and a uniform finish with the rest of the section made last year was achieved.

We invite you to watch the pictures chiping status and recent stretch made.

RENOVATION OF PINAR WITH BITAFLEX Autodromo AM3

RENOVATION OF PINAR WITH BITAFLEX Autodromo AM3

Flywheels Association of Uruguay (Auvo) BITAFAL Group relied on for supplying the modified asphalt AM3 being used as surface layer in the recent remodeling Speedway Victor Borrat Fabini El Pinar.

After several years it has been able to realize this dream that has had the support of several national companies and a very large effort by the Auvo policy.

Bitafal: new technologies to improve Caminería

The original work on Auvo, consisting in shaping the subgrade delivered, laying and compaction of ballast (this customer supplied) and the execution of a road surface 7cm thick with modified asphalt. Due to the high demands on surface finish is executed variant that is offered.

Soil movement, was conducted by Domingo De Vitta, with sand instead. Then after some adjustment of the executive project, we proceeded to the laying and compaction of granular material. It came from Cantera Casil of La Paz, supplied by the customer as mentioned.

With respect to the particle size in the first layer it wore its 12% natural sand with 5-14mm starting stone powder crushing Quarries Montevideo, with a percentage of 5.2% asphalt. The it wearing however, was performed without natural aggregates and with the addition of 1% lime. The optimum asphalt AM3 stood at 5.4%

The company had acquired a sonic level and another to copy the granular base which was carefully completed and controlled. The fit with soil and planted the seed back will be at 4.00 meters wide and around the inside of the loop with some minor requirement to prevent sand entering the track.

We congratulate everyone involved for the great work done.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICATION RECYCLING ASPHALT WITH FOAM

SUCCESSFUL APPLICATION RECYCLING ASPHALT WITH FOAM

We can proudly say that the Uruguayan road has become unrivaled in the last five years. The design engineers have proposed and accepted new technologies, builders have art equipment incorporating the first world countries and we are encouraging, but we shake the pulse, to innovate.

Who would have thought that in our country the technologies to be introduced as modified asphalts based massively?

Who would have thought that the surface treatments and micros with modified asphalts would apply on routes first order?

Who would have thought it stabilize soils with continuous and mobile equipment was to be imposed so quickly?

Only the technical results obtained are certifying all these advances.

The most recent milestone of new technologies pushed him over the past year the company Hernández and González S.A. making a bet unmatched in his work of Route 3. Sparing no technical or economic efforts, the company conducted a site recycling pavement with asphalt foam backed administration. In last December he was terminated the reference work and drove around in full, being able to observe the same high quality in all its aspects.

an expansion platform a recycling of all of the existing road asphalt foam and asphalt mixture of 5 cm thick, several sections with widening of a third rail verges stabilized in situ with cement and waterproofed with asphaltic treatment was performed modified emulsions.

All this work was done in less than 100 working days. As we all know, when Hernandez is proposed, it does, but beyond personal effort, its staff and technology built in Germany show that can be reconstructed 34 km of a road completely new with a guarantee of over 20 years only 100 working days.

This is the reality we want to emphasize, if we want a Uruguay with very good infrastructure, we must use the best technology, the most productive and advanced end up being the most economical and durable.

This result is part of an innovation process together among the companies that participated in the Wirtgen Technology Days 2014 held in Germany, which agreed to bring in conjunction with H & G, Meliter, CVC and Tradinter a South African technician for the purpose of a conference the virtues of applying technologies foamed bitumen (Bulletin October 2014).

This process continued with the addition of equipment and technologies required for their application and hard work in laboratory design all involved. They were also required many hours of training, briefings and of course hard to successfully implement this advanced technology work in the country.

As anecdotario plus all innovations in this work, conducted jointly develop gravillados hot applied in July, during the winter closed season with a very good technical and result only applied at low temperatures in our country (Bulletin July 2016)
